A demo plot (demonstration plot) is more than just a trial field — it is a living field laboratory where agricultural innovations are tested, measured, and proven before being shared with farmers.
KPMP Sahabat Tani Nusantara is proud to announce the launch of the Cassava Demo Plot in Central Lampung as part of our commitment to research-based and innovative agriculture.
Why a Demo Plot?
Indonesian farmers are often skeptical of new technologies or varieties that have not been proven under their local conditions. Demo plots address this challenge by providing concrete evidence in the field — not just claims from brochures or seminars.
Technical Specifications
- Plant spacing: 90 × 80 cm to maximize plant population per hectare
- Fertilization strategy: Measured combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers
- Varieties tested: Several leading national and local varieties for comparison
Four Main Objectives
1. Increase Yields and Starch Content
Testing input combinations and cultivation techniques that produce the highest productivity and starch content.
2. Evaluate Fertilization Strategies and Land Management
Comparing various fertilization formulas to find the most cost-efficient and high-yielding combination.
3. A Learning Model for Local Farmers
The demo plot is open for visits and training sessions for farmers around Bandar Mataram. Farmers can observe best practices firsthand and consult directly with the agronomy team.
4. Building a Database for Agribusiness Cluster Development
All data from the demo plot is recorded and analyzed to build a knowledge base that supports the development of a cassava agribusiness cluster in Central Lampung.
Expected Impact
With this demo plot, we aim to:
